Geektastic: Stories From The Nerd Herd
So, as part of my commitment to procrastination during the run-up to my second year exams, I’ve been reading this book. It’s a collection of stories about geeks and geek culture, by a selection of geek authors, and it is very good. There’re stories in here by authors that I’ve read before, and love (David Levithan, John Green, Garth Nix), stories by people I haven’t read from before but thoroughly enjoyed (Lisa Yee, Tracy Lynn, Libba Bray), and even one pager interludes with art by Bryan Lee O’Malley. The book has everything from sci-fi conventions, to cheerleaders, to star gazing and prep schools, and although I haven’t quite reached the end yet, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. It really speaks to the geek inside all of us (or the geek on the outside, let’s be fair…)

21 in Glasgow, and I haven't the slightest clue what I'm doing.
This is a semi-carefully curated selection of things I love, including the X-Men, pop music, Hawkeye, food, Cougar Town, bearded men, bourbon, drag queens, Archer, animals who think they're people, Happy Endings, Wonder Woman, and anything that can make me smile. All of the views contained in this blog are my own, and do not necessarily reflect those of the BBC.
